Intern Fashion Friday
I’m a pretty thrifty shopper, so I’m a huge fan of secondhand shops, DIY projects and clothing renewal. One of my favorite things to do is go through my wardrobe every couple of months and pull out anything that I haven’t been wearing often and try to find ways to restore it. Whether it’s adding some sort of detailing or cutting it up and turning it into something completely new. I’m also a recovering shopaholic, so it’s been a great way for me to resist the urge to splurge.

My recent wardrobe project was a thrifted jean button up shirt. I’ve had it for quite a while, and it was starting to get that worn look, so instead of getting rid of it, I thought why not spice it up a bit? I decided to add some stud detailing to the bottom hem, shoulders and collars. About 100 studs, some bandaged fingers and a couple hours later I’ve got this awesome rocker-style shirt that’s turned into an interesting conversation piece and a great way to turn a basic t-shirt and jeans into something edgier.

Intern Fashion Friday’s: Big on Bollywood
I’ve always been a big Bollywood fan - from the exaggerated eye make-up, elaborate jewels and gold to the saris, silk scarfs and the music. Bollywood culture is rich in glamour, and I love getting really creative with my looks, so I set out to put together my own Bollywood inspired look. First, I started with the make-up. I went with a very simple look - no shadows, just heavy eyeliner on my top lid and a bubblegum pink lip.
For my outfit, I didn’t want to go with the traditional sari; I wanted something that can easily transition to a night out on the town, so I tried something a little different. Bright colors are a must for any Bollywood look. I’m (pictured above) wearing a richly colored blue DIY dress. I pull the look together with the bling! I paired a head jewelry piece with a silk scarf around my head. I threw on a pair of thick, gold hoops and dressed my knuckles full of rings. And viola! Here’s my own rendition of a Bollywood look, not too over the top but just unique enough to stand out.
